Mr. Latherow is President of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association. He has been chosen three times, including for the year 2011, as one of the top 100 attorneys in Illinois by Illinois Super Lawyers. He has also been chosen by the National Trial Lawyers as one of the top 100 trial lawyers in Illinois. He is rated AV by the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers. This AV rating as defined by Martindale-Hubbell law directory signifies that he is among those at the highest level of legal ability and that he has a very high adherence to the professional standards of conduct, ethics, reliability and diligence. Mr. Latherow began his legal career with significant trial experience at the Cook County State's Attorney's Office, where he was promoted to the Felony Trial Division within two years of being hired. There he prosecuted cases in the highly visible Repeat Offender Trial Courts where he tried 25 jury trials to verdict, including a death penalty case. After nearly six years serving the public, Mr. Latherow entered private practice in 1982.

- Recognized by the National Law Journal as obtaining one of the top 100 verdicts in the country, $21 million (reduced to $18.9 million due to the co-pilot's comparative negligence), including $18 million for loss of society damages as a result of a private jet crash, a then record verdict in Illinois for loss of society damages.

Bridget Duignan—Associate

Prior to joining Latherow Law Office, Bridget served as assistant counsel to the Speaker of the Illinois House of Representatives, where she analyzed proposed legislation and served as the Parliamentarian to the State Government and Insurance Committees. Upon entering private law practice, Bridget worked as a defense attorney in workers compensation and employment law. She gained valuable experience there, seeing injury claims from a defense perspective.
